Introduction
Basic Administration Training (BAT) is an induction training organized for the newly appointed Gazetted Class III Officers (General Administration,Accounts,Foreign Affairs, Revenue, Audit and Parliamentary Service) who come with the diverse academic and socio-cultural background with or without prior job experience .The program aims to orient and socialize the newly appointed officers with core values,functions and practices of civil servants and to enhance their basic as well as job-specific competencies so that they can deliver quality service to the people with greater degree of professionalism,serving attitudes and behavior. Having six months of duration,it is divided in two phases. The first phase of three months consists of foundation course offered to all the groups while the next three months is of specialized course offered to only General Administration Group. The course is structured in modular basis consisting altogether of 17 modules .Various components like class-room sessions, country visit, internship, Yoga and physical fitness, term paper, extra-curricular activities and Sunday session are signature features of the program aiming holistic development of the participants.
