In this  Series, the speaker brought insights from his years’ long experiences, research and engagement with promotion of border management issues. Maintaining peace and security through proper management of border in time of Nepal-India border encroachment is a major challenge. In this context, he highlighted  border management and border related issues of Nepal and shared the means of its solution. The speaker  focused  on National integrity, security and solidarity sharing his border related research and study.

 

Mr. Shrestha is researcher on Border Issues and Managing Director of Bhumichitra Mapping Company and recipient of Madan Puraskar of Nepal. He has written seven books including Border Management of Nepal, Boundary of Nepal (in vernacular). He has also written 13 other books in co-authorship, including International Boundary Making, published from Denmark and Tools to Support Transparency in Land Administration published by UN-HABITAT, Nairobi. He is the Member of more than 15 professional institutions and organizations at home and abroad such as Member, International Boundaries Research Unit (IBRU), Durham- United Kingdom, Member, Association for Borderlands Studies, Victoria- Canada, President, Nepal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Kathmandu, Nepal, Advisor and Member, Nepal GIS Society (NGISS), Jawalakhel, Lalitpur.
