The 15-day Training of Trainers (TOT) for the Officials of Public Institutions has commenced from 10 Jestha, 2080 (24 May 2023) at Khaptad Hall, Dikshya Sadan of NASC. It is a regular training designed for the officials of public institutions who are trainers, potential trainers or have roles and responsibilities of taking sessions and facilitating sessions at their workplace. The training was organized by Management Learning Group (MLG), Centre for Human Resource Management (CHRM) and is for 15 working days. Mr. Nabin Chapagain and Mr. Anup Bhurtel are the coordinators of this program. There are a total of 20 participants in which 4 are female and 16 are male from various public organizations such as Nepal Oil Corporation, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Nepal Police and such. The training also includes 4 faculties of NASC.
The opening event started at 10 am on 24 May, 2023 in the presence of Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel, departmental head of MLG and Mr. Uttam Acharya, Centre Chief – CHRM. Mr. Bhurtel anchored the program in which briefed about the program firstly. He then invited Mr. Uttam Acharya on the dice for his opening remarks. Mr. Acharya explained the scope and design of TOT, related the training to Trainer's skills development. He linked the training to trainer's competency development and shared that it is about expressing oneself using right participation. He also explained that there are philosophies for sharpening ourselves and added the linkages of the modules to the outcome. With the expectations that this training will build confidence in the participants, he ended his speech. Mr. Bhurtel then invited Mr. Sigdel for his opening remarks. Mr. Sigdel firstly briefed about the NASC, its core functions, organizational structure, physical infrastructure, roles in capacity building and also shared that he is happy to welcome the participants at NASC. He explained that TOT is a flagship program of NASC. He highlighted the role of TOT as an essential life skill, and its role for managerial skills, leadership skills and to produce new and better leader/manager and also as an essential life skill. Briefing about his favourite quote ‘Life has no rehearsal, only performance’, he ended the program. The opening was shortly followed participant’s detail registration in Training Management System.
