The certification and closing ceremony of the Leadership Development Programme for newly appointed Class-I officers of the Government of Nepal that started from 29 Kartik was held on 03 Mansir 2078. The aim of the programme was to enhance leadership competencies of the newly appointed Joint Secretaries to enable them to provide quality service to the citizens with greater degree of professionalism. The programme was chaired by Dr. Rajan Khanal, Executive Director, Nepal Administrative Staff College, Jawalakhel, Lalitpur. Mr. Shankar Das Bairagi, Chief Secretary of Government of Nepal was present in the event as a special guest. Similarly, Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, Senior Director of Studies and Department Head of Public Service Training Department (PSTD), NASC also presented in the programme. The program was hosted by Mr. Trilochan Poudyal, Center Chief of Center for Induction Training, PSTD
On the behalf of participants, Mr. Ram Chandra Tiwari gave vote of thanks speech. He thanked NASC for organizing such a fruitful training. He also shared his reflection of learnings from five days of training. Furthermore, Mr. Tiwari thanked all the resource persons involved in the training for the transfer of their knowledge and for sharing valuable experiences.
Mr. Sigdel congratulated participants on successful completion of the training program and highlighted the core area of the training program. He expressed his expectation from participants to focus on delivering the result considering the policy, rule, regulation and demonstrate high level of integrity.
Mr. Bairagi, special guest of the programme also congratulate all the participants on successful completion of the training program and distributed training completion certificate to all participants. He requested all the participants to capitalize their energy, knowledge, skill and competency in public service profession for enhancing service delivery. He further suggested all the participants to transform themselves and utilize collective wisdom to improve living standard of general public. Moreover, he expressed his expectation from participant to be innovative, creative, cooperative and committed in delivering service. He further highlighted the importance of economic capacity of the country and added that Nepal cannot sustain better political and social achievement unless the country are economically strong. He stressed that all newly appointed class I officer must professionally develop them self and believe on own competency and fulfill their responsibility with honesty.
The chair of the program, Dr. Khanal congratulated participants on successful completion of the training program and indicated the role of newly appointed class I officer in providing quality public service delivery and delivering results. He also focused on public expectation from the system in the changing context. Moreover, he stressed on leadership role that must be fulfilled by the class I officer of the government to fulfill the public expectation. He further highlighted the role of newly appointed Class I officer as a leader in formulating effective policy. Dr. Khanal further highlighted the role of NASC in providing platform for sharing experience and developing network among training participants. He expressed that change is possible from oneself, so start with yourself for changing the situation positively. Mr. Trilochan Poudyal, Dr Shyan Kirat Rai, Mr. Shailendra Prasad Bhatt and Mr. Damodar Basyal from the coordination team congratulated the participants for successfully completing the training programs.
