Closing Ceremony of 4 days Training Program on “Procurement of Works – Small Contracts”

The Capacity Development Resource Center (CDRC) successfully completed a four-day training program on “Procurement of Works – Small Contracts” on Jestha 1, 2083 (15 May 2026) in Pokhara.

The training program was designed to strengthen the capacity of officials and project staff involved in Asian Development Bank-assisted projects by enhancing their understanding and practical application of ADB’s procurement principles, methods, and procedures, including the Merit Point Criteria (MPC).

During the program, key areas such as procurement methods and procedures, bidding documents, bid opening, bid evaluation, contract award, fundamentals and framework of the Merit Point Criteria, and procurement risk assessment for MPC were discussed in detail.

Procurement is a highly technical and specialized subject. Nevertheless, the resource persons, specialists, and content experts made sincere efforts to make the sessions practical, engaging, and interactive through exercises, Mentimeter activities, and group discussions.

The program was attended by representatives from the Asian Development Bank, thematic experts, and other relevant stakeholders. TA Team Leader Mr. Suman Prasad Sharma and Ms. Ashrita Dhital also participated in the program.
