The closing ceremony of 5-day Training of Trainers (TOT) for the Officials of Provincial Center for Good Governance, Bagmati Province was held today (29 Ashad, 2080; 14 July, 2023) at the premise of Provincial Center for Good Governance (PCGG), Jawalakhel, Lalitpur. Dr. Rajan Khanal, Executive Director of NASC was the chief guest of the ceremony. Mr. Gopal Krishna Neupane, Executive Director of PCGG chaired the session. The event was also graced by the departmental head of Management Learning Group (MLG), Mr. Binod Kumar Bista and Centre Chief of Centre for Human Resource Management, Mr. Uttam Acharya. The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Anup Bhurtel and there were altogether 18 participants in the training.
On behalf of the participants, Mr. Kiran Thapa reviewed and shared about the overall program. He stated that the participants were passionate to learn throughout the training program. He further mentioned that the learning will help them to design and deliver effective training in the upcoming years. He believed that their learning will be transferred till grass root level as PCGG is the center that aims to maintain good governance through capacity building and enhancement for which he showed his gratitude to NASC and PCGG for providing this platform of learning and sharing.
The ceremony was continued with remarks of Mr. Gopal Krishna Neupane who was there to observe and encourage the participants throughout the training period. Mr. Neupane spoke briefly about the aims of PCGG in maintaining good governance and added that capacity building of the officials of PCGG was the first step on achieving those objectives. He added that the practicum session showed that the training was fruitful in terms of acquiring the basic skills that a trainer and a training management institution must hold. He thanked the participants for their active involvement and participation throughout the program and also expressed his gratitude to NASC for providing this opportunity where the officials learn to design and deliver the effective training.
Followed by the speech of Mr. Neupane, participants were felicitated with the completion certificated by the chief guest of the ceremony - Dr. Rajan Khanal. Dr. Khanal, in his concluding remarks, congratulated all the participants for successfully completing the 5-day Training of Trainers program. He confirmed that TOT is a must for designing and conducting any kind of training and NASC has been organizing various kinds of customized TOT for public and private institutions with the aim of creating and increasing effective trainers to foster the learning and sharing environment for the country. Dr. Khanal highlighted on the significance of TOT and mentioned that wisdom, if transferable, will create many great works and TOT helps in transferring the wisdom to the learners. He added that Course Design and Contents, Methodology, Session Plan and Presentation Skills of Trainers are the major things that a trainer need to understand and apply in their session delivery as it enhances the art of persuasion which is one of the important aspects of training. He also shared about the book Art of Rhetoric with three major elements: ethos, pathos and legos and their application in learning and TOT. He further added that with the completion of this training, this year NASC has organized TOT programs in 4 provinces including Koshi, Madhesh, Gandaki and Bagmati. Finally, he gave his best wishes to the participants and PCGG as a whole for their wonderful future endeavor and ended his closing remarks.
