The five-day training on Leadership Development Programme for eighteen newly appointed class I officers under the promotion through work-performance, started on 13 Magh 2078 formally concluded in virtual mode on 20 Magh 2078, Thursday. Executive Director of NASC, Dr. Rajan Khanal, Senior Director of Studies, NASC and Department Chief of Public Service Training Department (PSTD), Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel and Director of Studies, NASC and Centre Chief of Centre for Induction Training, Mr. Trilochan Poudyal were present in the closing program. Mr. Poudyal hosted the closing ceremony.
Mr. Narayan Prasad Sapkota expressed the learning experience on behalf of the participants. He thanked MoFAGA and NASC for organizing the training program. He said that in the short period of five days also they have learnt a lot that will be helpful in their career ahead. He expressed that the training has imparted various knowledge and skills on various subject areas of management and governance and committed to implement it in their professional life. They were happy to learn about professional and personal ethics that will be helpful in their life. In addition, Mr. Sapkota suggested adding sessions on the role of provincial and local government, project management, judicial administration and law formulation, and the executive roles of chief district officers in the changing scenario.
Mr. Poudyal assured the participants that the given feedback will be incorporated in the future Training Need Assessment and include in the training content in future. Department Head, Mr. Sigdel congratulated participants for completing the training program successfully. He expressed his belief that the participants will benefit from the training program. He also emphasized about the changed role of the participants under a new context where they have to assume the role of leader and drive the organization and their subordinates. He also thanked for the feedback from participants that will be used as input for the redesign of further programs. Further, he added that one should never stop asking questions as this will lead towards the right path.
Finally, Executive Director of NASC, Dr. Khanal, delivered the closing remarks of the program. He congratulated the participants and expressed that this is a moment of happiness as a program has come to the end. He also expressed that NASC is a learning institution and it will always learn from the feedbacks of the participants to make its service better every time. He also requested the participants to take this online training as a new normal in this pandemic situation. He also asked the participants to distinguish between the personal and professional life. He suggested understanding and following detachment in life, which will help them to perform better in life as a responsible government official. He also shared an interesting story of a famous musician from USA to express the importance of happiness, which is achieved through the spiritual practice. The spiritual understanding will help to know about the philosophy of life and this will help them to perform as a good public officials. He advised that with the end of training, the education has ended by today and now it is time to show competency in their work performance. He then congratulated all participants for the successful completion of the training program and wished them for their successful professional life ahead. He then announced the formal closing of the closing ceremony.
