Commencement of Training Program on Procurement of Works–Small Contract

The Capacity Development Resource Center (CDRC) commenced a four-day training program on Procurement of Works–Small Contracts on 29 Baishak 2083 (12 May 2026) in Pokhara. The training program is designed to strengthen the capacity of officials and project staff engaged in Asian Development Bank-assisted projects to effectively apply ADB’s procurement principles, methods, and procedures, including the Merit Point Criteria (MPC).

The program aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the New Procurement Framework (NPF) and practical skills in managing procurement processes ranging from procurement planning to contract administration, while incorporating risk-based thinking and value-for-money considerations. The training also covers the fundamentals, risk assessment, and key components of the MPC framework, enabling participants to apply structured, transparent, and objective evaluation methods that enhance procurement quality, efficiency, and accountability in project delivery. Representatives from Asian Development Bank, focal heads, and thematic experts were present during the program. Shailendra Prasad Bhatt and Ashrita Dhital also participated in the program.
