The Training Programme on Financial Management for the Officials of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) commenced on Ashoj 4, 2079 at Mechi Hall, Mangal Sadan amidst the gracious presence of senior officials of NASC. The opening ceremony of the training programme was attended by nineteen officials from the Nepal Oil Corporation.
In the opening ceremony, Senior Director of Studies and Department Head of Management Learning Group (MLG) Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel, and Director of Studies and Centre Chief of Centre for Financial Management (CFM) Mr. Sundar Shrestha were present as distinguished dignitaries along with the faculties and staffs of NASC. The coordinator of the program Mr. Krishna Bahadur Thapa welcomed the participants and started the formal programme.
Director of Studies Mr. Sundar Shrestha welcomed the participants and briefed them about the training programme and the course design where he emphasized about the course objective to make the trainees a performing manager by providing them updated and in-depth knowledge on financial management for the improvement of their professional competency. Then, Senior Director of Studies Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel emphasized the importance of financial management in an organization with an analogy that finance is the lifeblood of an organization. Mr. Sigdel also stressed the vital role of financial management training for the capacity building of finance practitioners. Mr. sigdel shared the quote "Life has no rehearsals not performance," highlighting the importance of sharpening our knowledge and skills for better performance. Finally, Mr. Sigdel put forward his concluding remarks by wishing all the participants to make the best use of this learning opportunity by sharing problems and difficulties faced during financial management practice at the workplace so that the training programme can help them overcome those issues.
