EDP Begins

Executive Development Programme (EDP) targeted for the senior executives of Public Enterprises has started from today (Baisakh 6th, 2080) in Prithvi Hall.

The opening ceremony was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including Dr Rajan Khanal, Executive Director of NASC, Dr Ram Prasad Ghimire, Secretary (Revenue) of the Government of Nepal, Mr Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, Head of the Public Service Training Department (PSTD), Mr Binod Kumar Bista, Head of CIsT, and other faculties of NASC.

During the opening ceremony, Dr Khanal, Executive Director of NASC, welcomed the participants and shared his experience of being on the Board of Directors of many public enterprises. He believed that the EDP would help to build the participants' managerial competency, and they would find the programme meaningful upon its completion.

Dr Ghimire, Secretary (Revenue) of GoN, further elaborated that the EDP is not just a training programme, but a development programme, which focuses on overall fields and aims to bring about attitudinal and behavioral change in the participants. He highlighted the importance of managing competency and diversity and unleashing one's potential, as it is a part of a lifelong learning process.

Mr Sigdel, head of PSTD, emphasized that the programme will serve as a learning laboratory for the senior executives, as they come from diverse backgrounds. He added that the course was developed after thorough research of senior executives of public enterprises and aims to align technical knowledge and skills with administrative and managerial perspectives.

The opening ceremony was followed by a group photo, and the sessions started shortly after. The training management team includes Ms Shailaja Updahyaya, Deputy Director of Studies, and Mr Bipin Ojha, Training and Research Officer. Ms Upadhyaya hosted the opening ceremony.

The EDP is set to reorient the senior executives and help them work as per expectations entrusted to them by maintaining and fostering integrity in their personal and professional lives. The programme will focus on managing resources and relationships effectively to achieve organizational goals..

The Executive Development Programme (EDP) is organized by the Centre for Inservice Training (CIsT) and is being held in the Prithvi Hall of the Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC). 27 senior executives from 18 different public organizations are involved in a 5-day programme.
