Graduation and closing ceremony of 35 Basic Administration Training (BAT) for General Administration group

Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) organized the graduation and official closing ceremony of 35 BAT, General Administration group in Shrawan 6, 2079 in virtual platform. The Executive Director, Dr. Rajan Khanal, chaired the program. Other dignitaries present in the program were Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Bishnu Prasad Lamsal and Senior Director of Studies and Department Head of Public Service Training Department (PSTD) Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel. All the coordinators of the program were also present. Mr. Trilochan Poudyal, center chief of Centre for Induction Training (CIT) hosted the ceremony. He welcomed the participants in the ceremony and congratulated them for making them so far. He mentioned that despite of the situation of pandemic that set a new normal situation and the local level election, leadership form NASC and Government of Nepal (GoN) did try their best to conduct the training program. He also talked about the modified form of the course and the apprenticeship module for the practical learning of the participants. Then he called upon the representatives from the training program to share their feedback on the training program. Mr. Hem Raj Kaphle from Bagmati group shared the views of individual and group. He said that the training they have received have helped them to understand their job in a better way. They experienced both the online and physical modality. They were grateful, for the training program was able to induce them with sense of responsibility, patriotism and above all the need of the current time. He also expressed gratitude towards NASC for enlightening their role as public servants to serve the country. Another participant Ms. Sunita Thapa, from Lumbini group also expressed gratitude on behalf of self and the participants. She appreciated the training management of NASC, facilities provided inside and outside the classroom at NASC. She expressed the need of six months training program to groom them for their role as public servant, but mentioned the current situation of pandemic and election that hindered the program. She also expressed the need of experience sharing in the jobs of the GoN that they have to perform after being posted to their respective organizations. She provided the need of corruption free, anger free, and stress free in them so that they can perform best for the development of Nepal.

Mr. Poudyal then called upon Senior Director, Mr. Sigdel for brief introduction of the training program and congratulating the participants. Mr. Sigdel explained about the situation NASC had to undergo to prepare and execute for the training program. He then instructed the participants to generate willpower so that they can perform better for the people who are waiting service delivery from them. He then congratulated them and wished for a better future ahead. Then, Mr. Poudyal called upon Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Lamsal to brief about the evaluation criteria and announce the result. Mr. Lamsal made announcement that among 377 participants 347 received the certificate of successful completion, nine received certificate for participation and 21 participants did not meet the criteria to get the certificate. Among these participants Mr. Lokendra Bahadur Rai, from Rara group stood first and was awarded the NASC Executive Director Gold Medal. Then, he congratulated the participants, mentioned that they will be defining the bureaucracy of future, and asked them to work honestly and by-heart.

Mr. Poudyal the called upon Executive Director, Dr. Khanal for his closing remarks and officially close the graduation and closing ceremony. Dr. Khanal congratulated all the participants and thanked NASC family for their tireless effort to make the training program successfully end. He also mentioned that NASC and GoN did hard work to ensure the training program.  He mentioned that learning never stops and being the new generation in the bureaucracy, it is now their responsibility to learn and sharpen their knowledge, enhance and acquire new skills and develop positive mindset in them to bring out bureaucracy out of crisis. He ended the ceremony by stating a quote from Zen philosophy “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”
