The handover program of the strategic plan of Bhaktapur municipality was successfully conducted on 30 Falgun, 2079 on the premise of the municipality. A team of four participants of Strategic Executive Development Programme (SEDP 44th Batch) jointly with the members of Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) handed over a five strategic plan 2079 – 2084 to Bhaktapur Municipality in the Mayor Mr. Sunil Prajapati and Deputy Mayor Rajani Joshi of the municipality in the presence of the municipality’s officials. On behalf of NASC, Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel (Senior Director of Studies), Mr. Sundar Shrestha (Director of Studies) and Mr. Anup Bhurtel (Training and Research Officer) had participated in the program. The document was developed by the joint team of SEDP’s participants: Ms. Nirmala Adhikari Bhattarai, Mr. Ram Chandra Dangal, Mr. Surendra Aryal and Mr. Tiresh Prasad Khatri, who are the Joint Secretaries of the Government of Nepal. The team was facilitated by Mr. Sundar Shrestha and Mr. Anup Bhurtel. The development of strategic plan was an integral part module of Strategic Management and the module was led by Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel and coordinated by Ms. Achala Dahal.
The brief was anchored by Mr. Anup Bhurtel. In the program, Mr. Surendra Aryal briefed about the process of strategic plan development and its insight. Then the handover was carried out by the SEDP participants and members of NASC. After the handover, Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel briefed about the essence of the module and expressed the committed of NASC and participants for implementation of the plan. As the closing remarks, the Mayor thanked NASC and participants for selecting Bhaktapur municipality and acknowledged that an in-depth study was done. He also shared how the municipality has been functioning keeping the emotions and expectations of the public in central place. He shared that this strategic plan is now an asset of Bhaktapur municipality and assured to work in collaboration for the implementation of the plan.
