Under the Capacity Development and Professionalization Project, Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) in collaboration with the World Bank, the Government of Nepal, and ITCILO, organized a Network Event for National Training Institutes regarding Public Procurement related training. The major objective of organizing the network events was to share public procurement management training experience among national-level public training institutions. Five Network events were organized from July 25 to July 28, 2022, where 46 participants from 11 various training organizations; Local Development Training Academy, Public Financial Management Training Center, Telecom Training and Research Center, National Judicial Academy, Agriculture Information and Training Center, National Water Supply and Sanitation Training Centre, Nepal Police Training Division, Forest Research, and Training Center, Rastriya Banijya Bank Training Academy, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Electricity Authority Training Center participated.
Representative of each training institution shared their experience and practices of public procurement training, and the modality of procurement training delivered by their organization. In addition, they have highlighted the types of public procurement training, module, weightage of public procurement classes in training modules, and modality of training provided by their organization. Dr. Raghu Bista, Chief of Center for Procurement Management, Mr. Gobinda Bhandari, Mr. Shailendra Prasad Bhatt, and Mr. Ashutosh Neupane collectively shared public procurement training experience and practices of NASC. Similarly, Mr. Ashok Jha, Consultant of ITC-ILO highlighted the experience of CDP training and its modality. With the completion of these five network event programs, all the requirements of the CDP project are successfully fulfilled.
