Opening and start of 36th Basic Administration Training (BAT) for the newly appointed Class III officers of Government of Nepal (GoN)

The 36th edition of Basic Administration Training (BAT) for newly appointed class III officers of Government of Nepal started with the opening ceremony at Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) on Falgun 03, 2079. The training includes 239 participants from Administration Service (General Administration, Revenue, and Account), Audit Service and Foreign Service.

Executive Director of NASC, Dr. Rajan Khanal, chaired the opening ceremony. Minister of Federal affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA), Honorable Aman Lal Modi was the chief guest of the program. Chief Secretory Mr. Shankar Das Bairagi, Secretary of MoFAGA Mr. Krishan Hari Pushkar,   Financial Comptroller General Mr. Hari Prasad Mainali, and Deputy Auditor General Mr. Maheshwar Kaphle were present as special guests. Deputy Executive Director Mr. Bishnu Prasad Lamsal and Department Chief of Public Service Training Department (PSTD) Mr. Tuasi Sharan Sigdel and other faculty members of NASC were also present.

Center for Induction Training (CIT) chief, Mr. Trilochan Poudyal hosted the opening ceremony. The program started with welcoming of the guests and national anthem. Then the chief guest inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the panas. Then Mr. Poudyal invited Department Chief of PSTD, Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel for welcoming the participants and providing brief information on the course. Mr. Sigdel congratulated and welcomed the participants and provided brief introduction of the designed course, which includes six modules covered within a period of four months. He suggested the participants to work for the greater good of the citizens and nation. Mr. Poudyal then called Financial Comptroller General Mr. Hari Prasad Mainali for his opening remarks. Mr. Mainali congratulated and welcomed the participants in the civil service. He requested and instructed the participants to be serious with the training so that they can perform by following in the system rules and give the necessary results. Mr. Poudyal next called upon Deputy Auditor General Mr. Maheshwar Kaphle, who welcomed the participants and informed about the importance of financial knowledge to enhance the financial betterment of the government. Mr. Poudyal next called upon Secretary of MoFAGA Mr. Krishan Hari Pushkar for his welcome remarks. Mr. Pushkar welcomed the participants and asked the participants to work in the national interest for the overall development of Nepal. Mr. Poudyal then called upon, chief secretary Mr. Shankar Das Bairagi, for his opening remarks. He also welcomed the participants and informed the participants that learning is a lifelong process and it will be the main factor for their progress in personal and professional life. Mr. Poudyal then called upon Minister of Federal affairs and General Administration (MoFAGA), Honorable Aman Lal Modi for his instructions and opening remarks to the participants. Minister Modi welcomed and congratulated the participants. Then he requested the participants to use their youth energy to work for the betterment of service delivery to the citizens. He also emphasized to focus on the welfare of citizens, society and country that will fulfill their purpose to be in government service. Then, Mr. Poudyal called upon Executive Director, Dr. Rajan Khanal for his opening remarks, formally open the ceremony and close the opening ceremony too. Dr. Khanal welcomed the participants, he emphasized on the need of training to enhance the Knowledge, Skill and Attitude for the betterment of their personal and professional life. Dr. Khanal mentioned the participants will have a rigorous training for four and two months of office attachment program before they join their respective organizations. Dr. Khanal also requested the secretary of MoFAGA to consider the performance of participants during the training program before posting them to respective work places. He then formally opened the program and closed the opening ceremony.
