Opening Ceremony of Training Program on Climate Resilient Hill Slope Management

Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) inaugurated a Training Program on Climate Resilient Hill Slope Management on monday at Rara Hall, Dikshya Sadan. The five-day training program is being organized by the Centre for Project Management (CPM) under the Governance and Development Management Learning Group (GDMLG).

The opening ceremony was chaired by Mr. Trilochan Poudyal, Director of Studies, NASC. Addressing the participants, Mr. Poudyal highlighted the growing challenges of landslides and slope instability in hilly regions and emphasized the importance of strengthening technical capacity to ensure resilient and sustainable infrastructure development.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Amindra Khadka from the Department of Roads (Quality, Research and Development Centre – QRDC), shared insights on the practical challenges faced in hill slope management and stressed the need for applying scientific, climate-resilient, and innovative engineering solutions in road infrastructure projects.

The training program is designed for 20 technical officials from the Department of Roads and focuses on enhancing participants’ knowledge and practical skills in landslide management, geotechnical investigation, slope stabilization techniques, drainage design, bio-engineering, and climate change impacts on hill slopes.

The program will run from 26 Magh to 01 Falgun, 2082, combining interactive lectures, case discussions, and group work to ensure an effective and participatory learning experience.
