
The five days long session on “Public Service Design and Delivery” under Governance and Service Delivery (GSD) for Mechi, Bheri and Koshi group of 36th BAT group concluded today (13th Baishakh 2080) with the grand poster/flex presentation and plenary session at NASC. The theme of the poster presentation was “Innovating Public Service” where 15 sub-groups presented their innovative ideas after their field visit at the 14 different ward offices of Lalitpur Metropolitan City and 1 ward of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
The poster/flex presentation was observed by the Executive Director of NASC, Dr. Rajan Khanal; Deputy Executive Director of NASC: Mr. Bishnu Prasad Lamsal; Department Head of Public Service Training Department (PSTD): Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel; Mr. Damodar Khadka, Ward Chairperson of Ward 18, Lailitour Metropolitan City and Center Chief of Center for Induction Training (CIT) of PSTD Department: Mr. Trilochan Poudyal. Likewise, the exhibition was observed by other faculties of NASC.
The program was then followed by the plenary session at the Prithivi Hall of NASC where the representatives from each group shared their learning reflection. From Mechi group, Mr. Hemanta Chunara; from Koshi group, Mr. Haribhakta Acharya & Ms. Manisha Kumari Kalwar and Mr. Ramchandra Bhusal from Bheri group shared their reflection on overall PSD sessions and their learning on delivering effective service delivery. Moreover, they expressed their gratitude to the modality of the session where they learned about the small and minor issues which they have to face while going back to the local level in the future.
After listening the learning reflections from participants, Department Head of PSTD, Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel concluded the program. On his concluding remarks, Mr. Sigdel firstly acknowledged all the three groups in bringing the innovating idea to improve the public service design and delivery from the local level. He gave different examples to reflect that the with the change of time and generation, expectation on the public service design and delivery by the people is very high. Therefore, to meet their expectation, participants (who will be representing the local level in future) have to design the public service delivery in a very effective and innovative approach. He concluded his remarks by thanking the entire team of GSD/PSTD module.
The plenary session was hosted by Geetanjali Upadhyaya. The session on Public Service Design and Delivery was designed and delivered by a team that comprised Trilochan Pokharel, Rajendra Adhikari, Geetanjali Upadhyaya, Gyan Laxmi Shrestha, Roshani Bhujel and Lila Nath Sapkota.
