The sixth batch of Professional Course on Management and Development (PCMD) has commenced from 11th Poush, 2079 in Lumbini Hall of Dikshya Sadan. This training was designed for the participants of section officer or equivalent level. The duration of the training is 30 working days and has been planned to be completed on 20 Magh, 2079 assuming no changes occur on the national calendar. There are 30 participants from various organizations, ministries and departments. One participant has also joined the first module of ‘Managing Self and Relationship (MSR)’ who had missed this module in one of the previous PCMD trainings in this fiscal year making a total of 31 participants for the first module. The group coordinators of this training are Ms. Roshani Bhujel and Mr. Anup Bhurtel.
The opening event started at 9:15 am in the presence of the dignitaries: Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel – Departmental Head of Public Service Training Department (PSTD) and Mr. Binod Kumar Bista – Centre Chief of Centre for In-Service Training (CiST). Mr. Anup Bhurtel hosted the event in which he welcomed the dignitaries and greeted the participants. He briefly informed about the start of the training. He then requested Mr. Binod Kumar Bista to highlight about the training. Mr. Bista briefed about the organization and its roles in training, consulting and research. He linked the formation of PCMD training and its relevance for learning for the officers of bureaucracy or public services. He also stressed on the aspects of discipline and wished the participants for fruitful stay at NASC and ended his speech. Mr. Bhurtel then thanked Mr. Bista for his opening remarks and then added that NASC is using online system for administrative works such as collecting feedback, uploading/downloading learning materials and also for reviewing the attendance records. He then requested Mr. Sigdel to further add on the training related information and formally announce the start of the training. Mr. Sigdel briefly added relevant information regarding the training, wished for the better learning through the design of the training and formally announced the start of the training. After the opening, there was a short refreshments followed by technical orientation on the use of Training Management System (TMS) by Mr. Ashutosh Neupane from CKMIT. After technical orientation, Ms. Chandni Kayastha briefed about the first module ‘Managing Self and Relationships’ which was shortly followed by the first session of the training.
