The opening ceremony was chaired by Senior Director of Studies and Department Head of GDMLG Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel. Moreover, the opening event had the presence of other eminent dignitaries- Mr.Ram Hari Pokhrel, Director General of DOR, Mr.Prabhat Kumar Jha, Deputy Director General of DoR and Mr. Sundar Shrestha, Director of Studies and Center Head of Centre for Project Management of NASC.
Mr. Pokhrel congratulated the participants and reflected on his early career, which lacked training opportunities. He emphasized that this absence of training made it challenging to understand administrative competencies. Mr. Pokhrel stressed that technical expertise alone is insufficient in one's professional life, and that proficient engineers must also possess administrative skills. He concluded by urging participants to apply the knowledge gained from the training to their actual work.
In his welcome address, Mr. Sigdel acknowledged the esteemed position of engineers and their influence on young people's career aspirations. He cautioned that poor performance by engineers could negatively impact youth who are considering this profession. Mr. Sigdel encouraged participants to ask questions freely during the training. He concluded by highlighting the crucial role of engineers in managing capital expenditure, which he identified as the cornerstone of actual development work.
