Overview
The enactment of the Insurance Act, 2079 transformed the former Beema Samiti (then Insurance Board) into the Nepal Insurance Authority. This autonomous and sole regulatory agency was established to systematize, regularize, inspect, and supervise the insurance business in Nepal. Its objective is to ensure fair, competitive, reliable, and credible insurance Annual Report 2080/81 Nepal Administrative Staff College54 services, effectively protecting the rights and interests of policyholders. Recognizing the significance of its enhanced role, the Authority identified the need to review its organizational structure, as previously proposed by NASC, and requested NASC to conduct a supplementary survey to substantiate the earlier structural recommendations under the following objectives:
1. Review and analyze the enhanced role of Nepal Insurance Authority as mandated by Insurance Act, 2079 and Insurance Policy 2080.
2. Review and realign the organizational structure of NIA given the new mandates.
3. Propose the staffing standards for the recommended structure of NIA
