A seven-day training program on “Innovating Public Policy: Use of Evidence (InnoPoLE)” for the gazette class two officers (undersecretary) of the Government of Nepal (GoN) and different public organizations started on Magh 22, 2080. The program's opening ceremony was chaired by the Department Chief of Governance and Development Management Learning Group (GDMLG), Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel. The training program is participated by nineteen participants from diverse backgrounds of work and responsibility from the government and public organizations. The involvement of participants from academia (universities) further added to the collaborative engagement, mainly highlighting the need for evidence in policy-making and implementation. Mr. Sigdel welcomed the participants, highlighted the major components of the training program, and requested the participants for their participative engagements during the program. He further added how evidence-based policy helps in the policy process, along with the addition of the innovation quotient in the policy process. The program is open lab-based, where the participants will engage in sharing their knowledge and ideas to build new knowledge and ideas in the field of policy making.
