The five days Leadership Development Programme for newly appointed Joint Secretaries of Government of Nepal started from 2078 Chaitra 21, Monday. Mr. Trilochan Poudyal hosted the opening ceremony. Dr. Rajan Khanal, Executive Director of NASC chaired the program and Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, Senior Director of Studies and Department Head of Public Service Training Department, NASC was present as a distinguished guest.
Mr. Poudyal started the opening ceremony by welcoming all the participants. After a brief introduction of the participants, Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel explained about the training program. He briefed them about the importance of the training program and on what base it is formed. He mentioned that it is a blended program of organizational management, policy and development. Moving on, he also focused on how the roles have been deepened as the officers have stepped up to a higher level, and how this program will help them share and learn from the experiences of the participants as well as the resource person in a single platform provided by NASC. He further emphasizes on two things public service delivery and result orientation and for this the training will help them to focus on both. Finally, Dr Khanal concluded the opening ceremony by his remarkable speech. He mentioned that the participants role in an organization now onwards will be very different than what they have be doing till now and to adapt on this changed role of participants can only be performed by tacit knowledge and codified knowledge. He added that the training focuses on disseminating this knowledge to participants by utmost practical interaction and discussions. In the end, Dr. Khanal congratulated the officers and wished them for successful completion of the training ahead.
