Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC), in joint collaboration with the Public Administration Association of Nepal (PAAN), successfully organized the 88th edition of its Discussion Series on 16th Jestha 2082 (May 31, 2025) at Kasthamandap Hall, Sampada Sadan, NASC. The event, themed “Social Security Allowances: Challenges and Way Forward,” brought together over 50 participants, including NASC officials and PAAN members. The discussion focused on Nepal’s 85 social security allowance programs and highlighted key implementation challenges, such as targeting inefficiencies, delivery fragmentation, and fiscal sustainability. Mr. Krishna Hari Baskota served as the keynote speaker, offering evidence-based insights and practical reform suggestions. The session was chaired by Dr. Rajan Khanal, Executive Director of NASC, and moderated by Mr. Madhuraman Acharya, Chairperson of PAAN. It provided a vital platform for critically assessing current practices and identifying pathways to enhance the inclusivity, accountability, and sustainability of Nepal’s social protection mechanisms.
