Governments are increasingly turning to Public Policy Innovation Labs (PILs) to find solutions to difficult and challenging complex systemic problems. The proposed creation of a Nepali PIL, hosted by NASC, would be an opportunity to build policy development capacity within the Nepali government. INNOVATE NEPAL would be a focal point for the exchange of ideas, sharing of resources and transfer of knowledge. It would bring together experts, planners, designers and problem solvers into a collaborative space. In this discussion series, Mcfarlane would bring ideas about PIL establishment and its influence in the policy environment of Nepal.
Mr. Mcfarlane has Masters in Public Administration from School of Policy Studies with certificate in Intergovernmental Negotiations from Queen's University, Canada. He has 17 years of long experience of working with Canadian Government. He has broad based experience in evidence based policy development and analysis in the health, economic and justice sectors of Canada.
