The 44th Senior Executive Development Programme (SEDP) organized by Nepal Administrative staff college (NASC) successfully concluded on Chaitra 02, 2079. A total of 24 participants graduated out of 25 who attended the programme, which commenced on Bhadra 23, 2079.
The closing ceremony was held at the Prithvi Hall of Nepal Administrative Staff College and was graced by Honorable Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Aman Lal Modi as the Chief Guest and Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi as the Special Guest. Dr Rajan Khanal, Executive Director of NASC, chaired the event. Senior Director of Studies and Department head of Public Service Training Department (PSTD) Mr Tulasi Sharan Sigdel & other faculties were present as a guest.
The SEDP was conducted by the Centre of Inservice Training (CIsT) of NASC and focused on leadership, integrity, strategy management, governance, and policy management. The closing program begin with showing a short video titled "6 months in 6 minutes" where clips of participants involved in different phases of learning were recalled.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Mr Krishna Prasad Nepal praised NASC for relevant course design and training management and provided suggestions to improve the program further. Mr Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, Head of PSTD, explained the overall programme and its outcomes.
In his speech, Chief Secretary Bairagi congratulated the graduating participants and emphasized the importance of such capacity development programs for senior executives. He urged the joint secretaries to put their learning to use and work effectively in their respective roles.
The Honorable Minister Modi congratulated the participants and talked about the challenges of managing officials of the civil service. He emphasized the importance of all government agencies and stated that they are equally essential, and employees must work in the areas they are appointed to work in properly. He also mentioned that the government is working to pass the bill of civil service as soon as possible and is open to discussing it at any time.
In his closing remarks, Dr Rajan Khanal congratulated the graduating participants and wished them success in their future endeavors.
Mr Binod Kumar Bista, Centre-chief of CIsT, hosted the event. Ms Shailaja Upadhyaya and Mr Bipin Ojha were the coordinators of the SEDP.
