The Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) hosted a half-day Trainers’ Meet titled “Rethinking the Role of Public Training Institutions in the Changing Governance Context” on 14 Baisakh, 2083 (27 April 2026). The event convened 40 participants, including 28 representatives from 21 federal and provincial training institutions, alongside freelance trainers and NASC faculty. The program featured a blend of research presentations, plenary discussions, and reflective sessions.
Discussions across four themes focused on shifting from rule-based to result-based systems, integrating IT and AI, strengthening institutional collaboration, and ensuring impact-oriented training. Key outputs included consensus on conducting systematic Training Needs Assessments (TNA), integrating AI/IT as dedicated training modules, and establishing stronger post-training follow-up mechanisms. Participants also emphasized developing an umbrella coordination framework among training institutions and improving training transfer to workplaces. The plenary synthesis produced actionable reform directions aligned with governance transformation and digital service delivery needs. The program concluded with summary remarks by Mr. Rajendra Adhikari, Head of the Department, Management Learning Group, and closing remarks by Executive Director Mr. Ram Sharan Pudasaini. Overall, the meeting reinforced a shared commitment to making public training institutions more coordinated, demand-driven, and impact-focused.
