The Center for Organization Development (COD) launched a three-day training program on negotiation skills for public sector officials today. The program brings together 14 officials with diverse professional backgrounds spanning regulatory authorities, banking, supply chains, and essential service delivery. The opening session was held at Malashree Hall, Dikshya Sadan, in the presence of Center Head Dr. Raghu Bista and Deputy Director of Studies Mr. Pramod Niroula. In his opening remarks, Mr. Niroula welcomed the participants to NASC and outlined the course structure. He also introduced the seven-element framework for effective negotiation and highlighted its importance in helping public officials become principled negotiators in today’s public sector environment. Moreover, he also highlighted that being an effective negotiator is one of the core professional and life skills for every public sector official irrespective of their functional domains and disciplines.
Dr. Bista concluded the opening session by emphasizing the value of negotiation in both professional and personal life. He encouraged participants to engage actively throughout the program and outlined the methods that would be used to deliver the training. He also shed light over the strategic role of effective negotiation to capitalize the business opportunities and uplift the organizational performance at large. This three-day training program will be completed on 22nd Ashwin, 2083.
